Chew on this... "Don't wake up every morning and worry about the empty chairs. Wake up and think about the filled ones." - Jason Abrams
Talk About the Magnificent Seven
This graph by Apollo shows the S&P500 equity returns with one line for the Magnificent 7, and another for the other S&P 493.
  • Our Aha: It’s one thing to read about AI raising the value of the S&P500 and another to see it visualized like this – the Magnificent Seven rising while the rest flatline. The Magnificent Seven are: Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet (Google), Amazon, NVIDIA, Meta (Facebook), and Tesla.
  • This might be the reason why GDP is holding around 2 and it still feels like the economy is much slower than that in every day life, including housing.
  • This is fundamentally how a technology-driven bubble occurs.
Workaholism VS Work Ethic
Workaholism

Primary Motivation:

Internal compulsion to work. Feels guilty when not working.

Typical Daily Tasks:
  1. Checks texts, social media, and email first thing, mid-day, late evening, plus weekends.
  2. Works late into the night, deprioritizes vacations and personal time.
  3. Poor at delegating.
  4. Skips social/family time for extra work tasks.
Strong Work Ethic

Primary Motivation:

Belief that meaningful work strengthens character and leads to results.

Typical Daily Tasks:
  1. Time blocks and has an end to their work day. Honors "no work" hours.
  2. Focuses on what matters most and makes the time count.
  3. Approaches work with intention, then switches tasks only when absolutely necessary.
  4. Plans social, family, and self-care time and protects it.
  • Bottom line: All studies on this topic show you won’t outpace others by working more hours. In most cases, it’s the opposite. Productivity and health plummets between 40 and 55 hours per week. After 55 hours per week, studies show work is actually counterproductive.
  • Hustle culture is a trap. Without boundaries, productivity declines and wellbeing suffers. Disciplined, focused work inside clear time blocks and rest builds sustainable success and fulfillment.
Sellers Want Emotional Confidence
A study by 1000 WATT surveyed recent sellers and ranked what sellers wish their real estate agent have prepared them for. Most of the answers revolve around emotions, like negotiation stress, inspection anxiety, and saying goodbye.
  • Our Aha: There’s a ton of anxiety brewing within the hearts and minds of our sellers. You can easily stand out on the front end by augmenting your listing presentations to address their fears and insecurities.
  • Helping people move past fear is one of the highest callings of a fiduciary consultant.
